Murphy Down Under (2006)

Here's a movie of Murphy and I hitting Brisbane for the 1st Test of the Ashes 2006 and then continuing up the East Coast of Australia supposedly to Cairns, but we only made it to Airlie Beach!

Good Times.

Day 196 in the Big Antipodean Adventure

Went to Pearl Jam concert, great fun but venue management need to sort out issues surrounding beer; speed of service, quantity permissible, quality, and the ability to take it into the arena!

Pic and vid to follow...

Day 193 in the Big Antipodean Adventure

Went sailing with the lunch time drinking crew in Sydney Harbour.

Despite it being totally overcast, very windy and wet... yes I still got sun burnt!!!

More and pics to follow, needless to say I fell asleep on the bus home - so lucky I'm the last stop!

Day 182 in the Big Antipodean Adventure

Ouch.

Just spent 4 days in Noosa, Queensland, with the boys (Jarosz, Stevie the Pom, Cam, BGJ and Fanta), the pom booked us a great penthouse with superb views and all the facilities etc (except we ran out of toilet paper by Monday!!!).

As soon as we arrived on Friday morning we hit the Reef Bar (this would become a recurrence) and started pounding the beers. It’s all a bit sketchy but I think we ate there at some point, Jarosz placing the 1st punt that Fanta would order oysters and ten minutes later that's exactly what he did and they were great in some whisky and Worcester sauce...

Then we hit the Kuala Bar down the hill... more drinking and some dancing this time... typically numbers fell one by one and it was Jarosz who was playing Cinderella this night...

Now in Queensland unlike NSW they don’t use Daylight savings! Stupid as hell and I wondered why Sydney-siders would crack jokes at the Queenslanders and now I know why, apparently one of the reasons they don’t use it is it upsets the cows!!! Ha ha growing up on a dairy farm I have never heard anything so stupid. Can I get that word into this sentence any more times?
Anyway the upshot is that Jarosz and I were up by 06:00 hrs so we quietly snuck out and walked into town where we found the pie shop opening up and stocking up for the day, 2 pies later we headed to the Butchers again loading up for the day and cleaning the floor, I poked my head round the corner and asked if we could buy some bacon, 24 rashers and 12 eggs later we were heading to the 7/11 for some bread, a tomato and a tin of beans. At this point we were never going to walk back up the hill so we picked up a cabbie half way through his shift, a pleasant story teller who was describing the women he’d picked up this morning…
So back to the penthouse by 07:00 and the smell of the bacon on the BBQ eventually got everyone else up and the Crownies were flowing. Problem was the pub didn’t open until 09:00 hrs so we spent two hours studying the days form…

Much more commentary to add to this but I really am not in any form of good shape right now… perhaps another time…
